Riikka Latva-Somppi

Riikka Latva-Somppi is a curator and artist working in the interfaces of art, design and craft. Her professional practice includes multiple roles ranging from material practice and public art to teaching at Aalto University, lecturing and other assignments of expertise in the field. She worked as the curator for Pyhäniemi Manor 2011-2018 and curated the European touring exhibition Ceramics and its Dimensions: Shaping the Future (2016-2018). Her public artwork has been awarded The Certificate of Environmental Art in 2009 and has gained several special recognitions as part of Art4 public art concept in Tikkurila in 2017-2018. She is currently working on her doctoral research at Aalto University’s Design department.
