Henna Lampinen
Central aspects of fashion designer Henna Lampinen’s (born 1991) work are its basis in materials and crafted execution combined with an experimental idiom of form. She often links historical motifs with the present. Lampinen won the Designers’ Nest Award at the Copenhagen Fashion Week in 2019. The theme of Henna Lampinen’s installation is change. Her collection employs new techniques such as laser cutting, industrial knitting and digital printing. More traditional techniques are knitting by hand and tufting. Lampinen found the inspiration for her collection’s idiom of form from the time when the Friends of Finnish Handicraft association was founded by studying dress from portraits of the period.
